just found best backstage photographer, roxanne lowit. she also has good editorials but her candids are the best for sure. check her. (unfortunately all the photos there are really small)

The make up in the firs pic is amazing. And Kate looks awesome in the second pic. And the dress in the third pic is very interesting, yes.
i think backstage is probably the best place to capture an editorial. everything is right there. the models, the makeup, the clothes and the excitement.
