a second flash project for web class starring dv. the real thing was interactive, click the picture and the video strips would appear.. but here it is in movie form for the blog!
(will probs elaborate on this for final project..)
first assignment for web class.. a looped animation (like a screen saver) in flash. except i hate cartoons, so i used these photos of beauty j from the sunglasses photoshoot. here's a short video version.
fading photos? i know. but flash is deff not as easy as it looks...

heres some pages from my last project for the book class i took this term. it was based on an essay we wrote for design history about an artifact that we owned. i chose my michael kors sunglasses. we were then meant support and extend the text through a full book. my concept was to make the book look kind of like a high-end magazine using big images (used some of the sunglasses/gum pictures), small type and lots of white space. there were five sections that dealt with different aspects of the sunglasses like consumer culture and sun protection etc. i printed on thicker cardstock paper, sewed the binding and attached a hardcover. i'm really happy with how it turned out. j on the cover is perfect.
i picked this up a couple weeks ago for some photo inspiration. not only do i really like almost all of the editorial shots, but i was also really inspired by the content layouts. it's all so clean and really well organized. the photo arrangements, small text and creative use of white space gives the magazine a really original look and makes it feel more like a book. good thing, since it took a pretty big chunk out of the magazine budget.
i also found some more good photographers who did the editorials. aaand now need to get the new spring issue as soon as possible.
